Rachel grew up in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. She went on her first camping trip when she was two weeks old and a seed of love for the outdoors was planted.
She spent her childhood romping around the northwoods of Minnesota and wound up burning off energy running track and cross country at the University of Minnesota.
She moved out to Portland, Oregon to attend Oregon Health and Science University where she fell in love with moving fast through the mountains. She discovered the wonderful trail running community and met her husband Tyler at her first trail race in 2015.
She has won 5 European trail races including the Ventoux 46km and placed 7th at CCC (UTMB). She won the U.S. Trail Marathon Championship (2018) and competed for Team USA at the World Mountain Running Championships in Villa la Angostura, Argentina (2019). In 2020 she was 59th at the U.S. Marathon Olympic Team Trials. She is happiest in the mountains with a pack full of snacks, powered by her own two feet and flanked by adventure buddies.
